Citieslab successfully conducted CitiesCourse Series 4: Smart Land Capability and Suitability Analysis with AI-Powered Reporting on May 3, 2025. This program was designed to enhance participants’ capacity in utilizing Big Data for urban and regional planning, with a specific focus on land capability and suitability analysis.

The training provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in understanding land characteristics and determining the most suitable land use functions through spatial analysis. By leveraging classification and evaluation algorithms within the QGIS Processing Toolbox, participants explored data-driven and applicable approaches to assess land potential and constraints.

Key topics covered in this training included drainage capability analysis, erosion classification, slope stability index, waste disposal site suitability, water availability index, land workability classification, land capability classification, and land suitability classification.
