Citieslab organized Citiescourse Series 7, centered on the theme “Dynamic Urban Analytics with QGIS: Clock Board Zones and Light Modeling Tools.” The session was held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 09:00 to 12:00 (online via Zoom), bringing together participants interested in advancing their urban analytics skills through geospatial tools.

The course was led by Firman Afrianto, an urban planning practitioner and Principal at Sagamartha Ultima Indonesia. In this session, participants were introduced to advanced applications of QGIS, particularly through the integration of custom plugins to support dynamic urban analysis. The training emphasized the use of Clock Board Zones for multi-center spatial analysis and integrated nighttime light modeling to better understand urban activity patterns.

Participants were also guided to strengthen their technical understanding of QGIS, including raster and vector data processing as well as zonal statistics. Designed for those with prior experience in QGIS (version 3.40 or later), the session provided a more in-depth and hands-on learning environment. Through this series, Citieslab continues to foster data-driven approaches in urban planning and supports the development of more responsive and informed planning practices.
