Investigation of Current Urban Development Projects and New Business Opportunities in Indonesia

In 2024, Citieslab conducted a strategic urban research project exploring Indonesia’s current urban development landscape and identifying emerging investment opportunities. The project mapped major national initiatives, including National Strategic Projects (NSPs), Special Economic Zones (SEZs), metropolitan expansion areas, and key tourism corridors.

Citieslab conducted spatial policy analysis and synthesized data on infrastructure investment, regulatory frameworks, and sectoral development priorities. The research also examined labour market trends, regional wage structures, and construction cost conditions to support contextual understanding of Indonesia’s urban growth potential.

By providing spatial insight and grounded analysis, the study provides a clear picture of Indonesia’s urban development trajectory and investment environment, highlighting key sectors and regions with strategic potential.
