Citiesreview 2: What Cities Look Like in 2030
Uncontrolled urbanization raises many issues, such as congestion, poverty, and the growth of slum areas. Disruptive technology also proliferates and change people’s way of life. It raises even more issues to be addressed. The vision for future city development needs to address those social, economic, and environmental problems to achieve a more sustainable and environmentally friendly city. Action should be undertaken to create a low carbon city and build a smarter city through harnessing information and technology. This Citiestalk series will discuss and explore solutions for future cities in addressing urbanization’s impact on sustainability.
